Slush 2022

Last week my company travelled to Helsinki to Slush. I don’t know if it is really “the world’s leading startup event” as the organisers themselves claim but it was pretty big and filled with a bunch of entrepreneurs and investors. A lot of interesting talks and people all around.

I think what struck me most was the fact how the market is being fragmentized to accommodate new companies that specialize in more and more narrow and focused products and services. It seems true that as a company you need to nail one thing and just do it better than any other competitor and you are set. Did you know that there is a company called Ready Player Me that focuses on just making 3d avatars for Metaverse? I certainly didn’t.
